Well, it's that time again. Time to prepare yourself for the journey that lies ahead. It can be a little scary, but with the proper preparation you'll do much better so take a few minutes to make sure you're prepared. Below are some general tips to get your focus on track. With a few interviews you'll be on your way!

You should also be prepared to answer questions in the interview. Review some of the more common interview questions and think through a good answer for each. Also, Here are some good interview questions you should be asking

General Tips to Follow When Interviewing:


Interview Tip 1: Plan Ahead - Do a little homework! Research the company and the position, if possible, as well as the people you will meet with at the interview. Review your work experiences. Be ready to support past career accomplishments with specific information targeted toward the company's needs. Have your facts ready!

Interview Tip 2: Role Play - Once you have finished studying, begin role playing (rehearsing) aloud what you plan to say and how you plan to say it.

Interview Tip 3: Eye Contact - Maintain eye contact with your interviewers. Show them how much you want the job by maintaining eye contact throughout the interview. Nod, smile and listen to the interviewer. They will often tell you precisely what they're looking for, allowing you to outline your own experience in a way that is complimentary to their needs.

Interview Tip 4: Be Positive - In particular, avoid negative comments about past employers.  Smile and be friendly but not overly familiar.

Interview Tip 5: Adapt - Listen and adapt. Be sensitive to the style of the interviewer. Pay attention to those details of dress, office furniture and general décor, which will afford helpful clues to assist you in tailoring your presentation.

Interview Tip 6: Relate - Try to relate your answers to the interviewer and his or her company. Focus on your past achievements that may be relevant to the position for which you're interviewing.

Interview Tip 7: Encourage - Encourage the interviewer to share information about his or her company. Demonstrate your interest.

Interview Tip 8: Ask for the Job - If you want the job, then be direct about it. Upon leaving the interview, shake their hand, thank them for the their time and then look them in the eye and tell them that you want the job and that you hope to be seriously considered.
