Newsletter News ImageGoogle has recently introduced data retention controls. According to Google, “Starting May 25, 2018, user-level and event-level data will be retained according to the data retention control settings; Google Analytics will automatically delete user and event data that is older than the retention period you select.”

The catalyst for these controls is the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If your website collects data from EU citizens, you need to ensure compliance with GDPR. Find more information on GDPR here. For information on how to review or modify your data retention settings click here. If you need assistance with updating your data retention settings in Google Analytics, please contact us.
